Champagne.

Golden and sparkling, synonym for triumph and glory.

Its sparks mean everything we overcame to be there.
Its golden color brings to our minds our beautiful sunsets.
Its shining preludes to coming celebrations.

A bottle of this marvelous wine is to be opened when it's time to celebrate, but it's not what is to celebrate.

What is to celebrate is being with your beloved ones.
What is to celebrate is the moment.

Trains.

Trains pass us by every second.

Sometimes we run to catch them.
Sometimes we just let them pass.

Some are going so fast we'll fail to catch them if we don't choose them right away.
Others are going faster and we won't see them if we don't keep our eyes wide open.

Those trains are our chances in life,
it's up to us to choose them wisely,
it's up to us to choose them quickly,
it's up to us to keep our eyes open.

Life is up to us.

Happiness.

What is happiness?
We all recognize it at first sight, but can't describe it. Why? Furthermore, every attempt to do so is different.

Events begin to happen since our conception and get labeled either as "good" or "bad". Once labeled, they get a weight, relative to its importance.

The "weight" difference between "good" and "bad" events is proportional to happiness.

Happiness is an attitude.
Happiness is a choice.

D       i     s    t   a  n ce.

Mach 10. Mankind has just developed an airplane able cross the Atlantic Ocean at ten times the speed of sound.

The longest journeys on Earth are measured in thousands of kilometers. At 12,000km/h you can schedule your day leaving from NY's JFK at 8:30am and landing at London Heathrow 35 minutes later. What a day!

Distance is no longer an obstacle on Earth.
One day it won't be an obstacle.

No pain, no gain.

The milestone was reached. It was not as hard as I expected because one of the teachers reported sick.

Somehow, I studied to face her, it was a challenge and I'm somewhat disappointed.

On the other hand, it was a very pleasant evening. Having all of my family together, happy.

I now feel relaxed but not excited because of the lack of challenge.

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow's the big day.
People use to say that "the day will come when...". Well, tomorrow is that day.

The College degree milestone will be reached tomorrow. I can see it, it's right there at tomorrow's horizon!

It's been a long journey, filled with all kind of emotions, experiences and lessons. It's been a great journey!

Right now, at this very second, I'm calmed but excited; nervous but calmed.

Knowledge, education and confidence are my shield -and what a shield!-
Study and hard work are my weapons -and are to be feared-.

Tomorrow's "D" day.
Tomorrow my journal should be written with golden letters.
Tomorrow...

Impossible.

Impossible is defined as "Incapable of having existence or of occurring". The human species has redefined it as a challenge.

There was a time when making thousands of copies of a single book was impossible. That time is gone.

There was a time when the earth was flat and when trying to sail beyond the Earth's edge would lead to an infinite fall. That time is gone.

There was a time when heavier than air machines could never fly. That time is gone.

There was a time when traveling faster than sound was impossible. That time is gone.

There was a time when traveling to the moon and beyond was impossible. That time is gone.

"Impossible" is gone. It only remains as a misdefined word in the dictionary.

Quests.

Mankind's appetite for knowledge knows no limits. Unfortunately, neither does its appetite for conquering.

The quest for knowledge brought medicines.
The quest for conquering brought deceases.
The quest for knowledge gave men the ability to fly.
The quest for conquering took away men's right to live.
The quest for knowledge sent men to the moon and back.
The quest for conquering sent men to kill others.

May the quest for knowledge reach the point where it says that men conquering men is an aberration.

What to expect.

Through these lines I expect to improve my understanding and knowledge regarding as many topics as you can think of.

It is my deepest wish to post my thoughts and verbatims on a daily basis.

Best regards.
