Habemus Papam.

The bells rang and white smoke rose from the Sistine Chapel, announcing to the world that a new Pope had been elected.

The man who will now take the place John Paul II left days ago is the German Joseph Ratzinger.

"Habemus Papam" said Cardinal Jorge Arturo Medina Estevez and Benedict XVI appeared while the people at Rome clapped and the bells rang around the world celebrating the end of the "sede vacante".

Today that Karol Wojtyla is gone and his successor arrived I wonder how long will the world remember the charismatic Pope that traveled all over the world? The Pope who said sorry and contributed to the communism collapse? How long?
